Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands var stofnuð vorið 1950 og hefur um árabil verið í fremstu röð hljómsveita á Norðurlöndum. Hljómsveitin hefur fengið afbragðs dóma jafnt fyrir hljóðritanir sínar sem og tónleika heima og erlendis. Vorið 2011 varð Harpa, tónlistar- og ráðstefnuhús, heimili Sinfóníuhljómsveitar Íslands.

The Icelandic Rockchoir is a 9 years old choir, with over a 70 people, that has gone different ways then is usual in choir singing. Some of the singers have a lot experience in choir, pop and rock performing. The result is a powerful and totally unique sound that is clearly new of its kind in Iceland and something worth looking at. The choir was founded in the spring of 2015 by out conductor Matthías V. Baldursson and a few singers who wanted to make a different choir more designed for pop and rock singers. The outcome was Rokkkór Íslands (The Icelandic Rockchoir). The first project was to go in a studio and record a few well-chosen songs that have been released regularly in the media. The first performance of the choir was in Eldborg (Harpa) autumn 2015 on the anniversary concert of Sniglabandið. After that was no turning back and The Rockchoir of Iceland was clearly here to stay!
