The Cobourg & Area Museum, formerly the Sifton-Cook Heritage Centre, is located in downtown Cobourg in an old stone building named the Sifton-Cook Exhibit Hall, at one time known as "the Barracks" and believed by some to date back to the War of 1812. The Foundation is entirely volunteer operated and is funded by memberships, donations and grants.
